Weaponry

During the Anglo-Saxon period, weapons were an essential part of everyday life. The most common weapons used were spears, swords, and axes. Spears were the most popular weapon, used by both infantry and cavalry. Swords were also widely used, but they were expensive only afforded by the wealthy. Axes were used by both the Anglo-Saxons and the Vikings, and they were particularly effective in close combat. Shields were also an important part of the Anglo-Saxon warrior's arsenal, providing protection from enemy attacks.
