King Penda of Mercia

King Penda of Mercia was a powerful ruler who reigned during the 7th century. He was known for his prowess and his fierce determination to expand his kingdom. Penda was a pagan and waged war against the Christian kingdoms of Northumbria and Wessex. Despite his many victories, Penda was eventually defeated and killed in battle.
